Veremos Director Wins SC NEXTie Award!

We are thrilled to announce that Director Consuelo Alba of Veremos Productions received a Santa Cruz NEXTie award on May 30th  for her work as a Filmmaker telling local stories and as a Co-founder of the Watsonville Film Festival.

Each year,  Santa Cruz NEXT honors a select group of entrepreneurs, environmentalists and civic-minded leaders who ‘go above and beyond’ in terms of making Santa Cruz County a better place to live.

“I’m honored to receive this distinction,” says Consuelo,  “I’m proud to be able to help tell a few of the many important stories here through my filmmaking,  and to help bring stories from the outside that we can share here, as a community, through the Watsonville Film Festival.”

You can read more about the work of Consuelo and the other honorees in the Good Times Weekly: Read the article here.

Check out the NEXTies Awards photo gallery at Santa Cruz Waves.

El Andalón Now Available for Online Streaming

Our award-winning documentary, El Andalón (The Healer), is now available for internet streaming! Head on over to the El Andalón page at Reelhouse, and you can stream the entire film for a nominal fee. It’s a great option if you prefer to live a disc-free lifestyle, or if Amazon doesn’t deliver to your nieghborhood.

We chose Reelhouse because of their dedication to indie filmmakers, and their project pages enable us to add updates, photos & other goodies to keep you in the loop. We hope to be able to add a direct donation link from El Andalón’s film page to Don Sergio in the near future.

In the meantime you can make a donation here to support his important humanitarian work.
